Just saw this article on Abhi Uppal on Stockbrokerfraudblog.com. I can only hope that one day I am not accused of fraud and reduced to reblogging my own blog posts in an attempt to have my content crawled ahead of other public content about me.

Abhi Uppal barred by FINRA for insider trading
January 29, 2010 · Leave a Comment
I thought this article was interesting given this article regarding the monetary judgment I have against Abhishek Uppal. I also find the various single post blog articles copying various articles Abhishek Uppal has written to be amusing for some reason – it’s amazing how many people set up a blog (never even filling in the about, and locking the comments) merely to re-post someone else’s content once… *rolls eyes*
Anyways, the article on Abhi Uppal being barred by FINRA for insider trading is interesting.
He (Abhishek Uppal) was barred for buying shares of SoftBrands, Inc. while it was in discussions with potential acquirers. Piper Jaffray was acting as a confidential advisor to SoftBrands in its dealings with possible buyers.
FINRA found that Uppal purchased shares of SoftBrands while in possession of material, non-public information about the company’s pending acquisition. FINRA also found that Uppal used an undisclosed securities account that he maintained at another broker-dealer to conceal his trading in SoftBrands from his employer.
A friend of mine said he’s not surprised that Abhi Uppal was barred by FINRA given his history of Abhishek Uppal not paying his own personal debts to me, but personally it’s not my place to judge, only state fact, and will continue to patiently await the day Abhi Uppal is willing to pay the full amount owed, plus interest and fees as allowed under California law.

Abhishek Uppal (Abhi Uppal) has a monetary judgment against him in the state of California – UPDATE
October 27, 2009 · Leave a Comment
This is an update for my friends who were asking about my monetary judgment against Abhi Uppal (Abhishek Uppal) from a few years ago.
Abhi Uppal recently contacted me saying he’d like to ’settle’ his debt. However, after a brief exchange it was obvious he didn’t want to settle for the amounts actually owed, but something lower than. Not exactly what I’d call ‘good-faith’, sticking a former roommate with your long distance bills stemming from calls to India and other bills, but I digress.
I am not interested in discussing the case here or playing tug of war. I am writing in a good-faith attempt to clear this up, to save us both time and energy, and settle somewhere in the middle – that gets you some resolution that you have been claiming and for me it puts this behind me.
So if you would like to settle / mediate / arbitrate something in the middle, let’s talk what works for both, I am not offering original judgement + filing fees + associated fees.
As Abhi Uppal has shown no desire to pay the full court determined amount owed, and as I had to spend money on the court fees, original demand of payment letters sent to Abhi Uppal, etc. and feel that it’s not realistic that I should have to spend $2 to get $1, I will continue to keep these posts about Abhi Uppal’s monetary judgment in the state of California up. Further, this post about Abhishek Uppal at Piper Jaffray will remain up until he pays his full debt.
UPDATE:
Whoa, just saw this article on Abhishek Uppal doing insider trading. Pretty serious allegations.
And this article on Abhi Uppal and alleged insider trading

Earth hour tonight – 8:30 your time
March 29, 2009 · Leave a Comment
Dim your lights tonight for Earth hour at 8:30 your time. While motorcycles can help save the world by putting a dent in our dead dinosaur usage, dimming lights you’re not using can also make a MASSIVE dent – and when cities pitch in and turn down/off lights on structures that aren’t being used….it all adds up.
So crack a beer/wine, dim the lights and enjoy a little quiet time this evening.

Sex on Wheels aka Bike Porn Friday!
February 13, 2009 · Leave a Comment
Today’s bike is a hot little number I first lusted after when leaving my ex-girlfriend Jacqueline’s house up in the city. Only saw it through groggy eyes, didn’t realize it wasn’t an old beamer til a few months later when I saw another one parked in front of Zeitgeist. Without further ado, the Honda Dream…

Aaaaand a cafe’d version

An actual evolution in helmet technology?
February 11, 2009 · Leave a Comment
It’s no secret that I’m definitely critical of the motorcycle gear manufacturers seeming unwillingness to spend their money on any REAL safety evolutions as they fear that if it’s not the latest ‘as seen on your favorite racer’ look they won’t get their desired internal ROI. Came across this video today on the Lazer SuperSkin helmet, as well as came across this look at the helmet and research behind it by webBikeWorld. Worth a read.

Couple quick stats on motorcycle sales in 2008
February 11, 2009 · Leave a Comment
Due undoubtedly in part to gas prices last year, and probably in part due to the dwindling economy, motorcycle sales were down 7.2% last year. However, there are a few interesting bright spots.
-Scooter sales were up 41.5% from 2007, with the Motorcycle Industry Council members selling an additional 22.4k units
-Dual sport motorcycle sales were up 22.8% from 2007, representing 8.4k additional bikes sold
I saw those two stats are interesting as dual sports and scooters typically fall towards the smaller displacement end of the spectrum, thus representing less fuel consumed – directly translating to more cash in a consumer’s pocket. Will be interesting to see if the US will continue to get big bore race rep bikes year after year (btw, street bikes sales were down 5.6% last year, though as auto sales were down 19% I guess that’s a win) or if the manufacturers will start providing our market with more choices for two-wheeled commuting.
And, of course, some commute bike hotness for those that are visual people. Yes, there’s something about this three wheeled scoot that appeals to me.
